The Network Settings Window
These instructions will make frequent reference to the Network Settings Window.

configuration are made. You can get to this control panel by following these steps:

- In My Computer double-click on the Control Panel icon. This will take
you into the Windows Control Panel.
- In the Control Panel double-click on the Network and Dial-up Connections
icon. In the window there will be an icon for Local
Area Connection. Double-click on the Local Area Connection icon to open the
Local Area Connection Status window.
- In the Local Area Connection Status window click on the Properties button
to open the Network Settings Window.
Configuring TCP/IP (Internet) Network Access
Configuring TCP/IP networking consists of two steps. The first is adding
support for the TCP/IP protocol to Windows. Secondly, the TCP/IP protocol must
be configured for the Infinity-At-Home network.
Adding the TCP/IP Protocol
Go to the Network Settings Window as described above.
If Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) is listed you may skip to Configuring
the TCP/IP Protocol, otherwise continue on this section.
To add the TCP/IP Protocol click on the Install button. This will open
a Window titled Select Network Component Type.
In the Select Network Component Type window select the Protocol item from
the list and click on the Add button. This will open a window with a list of
Protocols. Select the entry in the list for TCP/IP and click on the OK button.
At this time you may be asked to insert your Windows 2000 CD or to reboot your
computer.
Configuring the TCP/IP Protocol
Go to the Network Settings Window if you are not already there.
Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) from the list of network components and
click on the Properties button. This will open a new window.
In this new window you will need to select Obtain IP address automatically
and Obtain DNS server Address automatically.
Click OK to exit this window and all previous windows.
If prompted to do so, reboot/restart the computer. It should then be ready to
use on the Infinity-At-Home network.
